Courtois, Benzema and Militao out of Real Madrid squad for Club World Cup semi-final

Real Madrid stars Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois will miss the game against Al Ahly in the Club World Cup semi-final on Wednesday.

Karim Benzema

suffered a leg injury against Valencia last week and missed the game against Real Mallorca, which ended in a 1-0 defeat. Thibaut Courtois also suffered a groin injury during the warm-up ahead of the game against Real Mallorca on Sunday.

Both Benzema and

Courtois

have been left out of the squad for Wednesday's clash against Al Ahly. They alongside Eder Militao, Lucas Vazquez, Ferland Mendy, and Eden Hazard have not traveled to Morocco for the Club World Cup.

If

Real Madrid

beat the Egyptian side Al Ahly, they will face either Flamengo or Al Hilal in the final. Benzema, Courtois, and Miliato may join their teammates for that match.

Real Madrid has won the Club World Cup a record seven times, including four times in the past eight seasons.

Carlo Ancelotti's side has only won one of their last three La Liga matches, and is eight points behind leaders Barcelona. Real Madrid will face Liverpool in the Champions League last-16 and also Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final in the coming weeks.
