Brighton reject Arsenal's £60m bid for Chelsea target Moises Caicedo

Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly has rejected a £60m bid from Arsenal to sign midfielder Moises Caicedo.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano,

Chelsea and Liverpool also are interested in signing Caicedo and Romano claims that Brighton already has rejected a £55m verbal proposal from Chelsea in January.

Romano claims that Brighton wants to keep Caicedo until the summer, but Arsenal is pushing to sign him before the January transfer window deadline.

The Athletic also reports that Brighton will reject Arsenal's offer, as they want to keep the Ecuador international.

Sky Sports also confirms Arsenal’s bid, but reports that the bid is expected to be rejected as Brighton insists Caicedo is not for sale in this January transfer window. Sky also claims that it is very unlikely that Chelsea makes another bid for Caicedo in January.

The 21-year-old midfielder has two and a half years left on his contract and recently said he is focused on his team.

He told The Argus:

”I am focused now on Brighton. I am here, I'm playing every day. What happens outside doesn't trouble me, nor does it take the focus away because I'm focused only on here.

“I handle [the speculation] well. You hear rumours here and there, but I only try to be focused on the club where I am now, the club which opened the doors for me to be playing every week.”

Arsenal has signed Brighton forward Leandro Trossard for £26m and the defender Jakub Kiwior from Spezia for about £22m in January transfer window.
