Arteta eager for Arsenal to face City and see where they stand

Arteta’s men will clash with Manchester City in a match that as Arteta claims will tell them a lot about their quality.

Mikel Arteta claims that

Arsenal

’s Friday clash with Manchester City will “tell us a lot about where we are” even though it will be “very, very different” than the match which they’ll have in the Premier League next month.

"It's a big test for us against, in my opinion, the best football team in the world,"

Arteta said.

"We're looking forward to it, because it's going to tell us a lot about where we are."

The FA Cup clash between the two will be held at the Etihad Stadium but the next month’s clash will be at the Emirates. Arteta was asked about if the result on Friday will impact the one next month but he dismissed such thoughts.

"I think they're going to be two very, very different games,"

he said.

"The context is extremely different. Let's see."

Despite Pep Guardiola winning 13 of his 16 matches against Arsenal since he has been appointed as

City

’s manager, the Citizens have lost the last four matches they’ve had against Arsenal in the FA cup.

Arteta added: "

Obviously it's important to play well and to win; that gives you more momentum, more confidence and prepares you better for the next match. That's our focus, to do that on Friday."
