The Glazers put an £8 billion asking price for Manchester United

After announcing they are exploring outside investment opportunities amid a potential club sale, the Glazers family has reportedly reduced their asking price.

Protests against the Red Devils' owners, the Glazer family have been led by the club's fan base as the Glazers remain universally derided figures among

fans, being recognized as the reasons behind the United’s downfall after Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

The American owners announced they are considering selling a minority stake in Man United last November. However, following the fans’ growing discontent with the owners,

Daily Mail

reports that United's owners are expected to sell the entirety of the club this year, with an asking price reported to be £8 billion.

Earlier, right before United’s Premier League opening defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion, United fans led a demonstration against the club's owners as they marched through Salford and Manchester, before doing a lap of Old Trafford leading a megastore being shut down.

According to the reports, when fans came back around to the megastore, the shutters came down and the shop closed, later reopening once the protestors had moved on. Supporters protested against the Glazers several times, and they forced a clash with Liverpool to be postponed when they broke into Old Trafford.
