Brighton’s winger extraordinaire Trossard wants a move away after a spat with De Zerbi
Brighton boss De Zerbi made an “attitude” jibe towards Trossard amidst the talk of the Belgian wanting a move away.
Leandro Trossard, who has been excellent for Brighton this season, wants a move away from the club after he seemingly had a spat with manager De Zerbi.
who scored a hat-trick in De Zerbi’s first game in charge of Brighton against Liverpool, won’t be playing any part in their return match at Anfield because of the situation between him an De Zerbi.
De Zerbi wasn’t shy about the rift between him and Trossard as he told reporters that Trossard needs to watch his attitude.
"On Monday, I spoke with him and I explained this attitude, this behaviour, I don't like,"
De Zerbi said.
"We are not a big team, a Real Madrid or Barcelona. We are Brighton and we need players who work like the others."
While Trossard himself didn’t comment on De Zerbi’s comments, his agent Josy Comhair talked to the Belgian press about the situation, hinting at a move away from Brighton for Trossard.
Comhair claims that this all started with
"an altercation between Leandro and a player in training over a trivial matter"
, which led to De Zerbi giving Trossard the silent treatment. According to Comhair, DE Zerbi has also suggested "several times that a transfer is the most convenient solution".
The agent then added:
"It is therefore important that Brighton cooperates with a potential transfer during this transfer period and shows a benevolent attitude, which is beneficial to both parties."
Trossard’s contract talks with
Brightonhas seemingly broken down and the 28-year-old Belgian is one of the most sought-after in the EPL, so there wouldn’t be a shortage of suitors if Brighton decides to sell him in January.
