Mbappe accuses French football president Le Graet of disrespecting Zidane
French superstar Kylian Mbappe has reacted to the French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet comments about Zinedine Zidane.
French legend Zinedine Zidane reportedly was set to replaceDidier Deschamps
manager after the 2022 World Cup but French Football Federation confirmed on Saturday that Deschamps has signed a new four-year contract until the 2026 World Cup.
In an interview on Sunday, the French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet said that he doesn’t “give a toss” whether Zidane becomes Brazil's manager and he wouldn’t even pick up the phone if the former Real Madrid manager called him.
He told RMC Sport:
“Zidane to Brazil? I don’t give a toss. He can go wherever he wants, to a club or to a national team. I don’t really care about it.
“I know very well that Zidane was always on the radar. He had a lot of supporters, some were waiting for Deschamps's departure... But who can make serious reproaches to Deschamps? Nobody.
"He (Zidane) does what he wants, it's none of my business. I've never met him, we've never considered parting with Didier. He can go where he wants, to a club... If Zidane tried to contact me? Certainly not, I wouldn't even pick up the phone.”
has come out in support of Zidane and criticised those comments by Le Graet.
He wrote on Twitter:
"Zidane is France, we don't disrespect the legend like that…"
Zidane who won the 1998 World Cup and the Euro 2000 with France, guided Real Madrid to the Champions League three times in a row as a manager. He has been out of work since leaving Real in 2021.
