Ten Hag dodges the Ronaldo questions saying: "We look to the future"

Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract was terminated by the Red Devils after a controversial second spell with the Red Devils. Being puzzled about the Portuguese departure in his post-match interview, ten Hag relies on the club’s statement saying “we look to the future”.

Thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford,

Manchester United

secured a place in EFL Cup's quarter-final with a 2-0 victory over Burnley. In his post-match interview, Man United's boss,

Erik ten Hag

tended to talk about United's camp in Spain during the World Cup break and their friendlies against Cadiz and Real Betis.

However, puzzled about

Cristiano Ronaldo

's exit, ten Hag answered:

"I gave you all the opportunity, many of you were in Spain. We made the statement, we look to the future

."

The statement ten Hag refers to is on pages six and seven of the

United Review

programme, reading:

"Cristiano Ronaldo left the club by mutual agreement last month.

"The Portuguese superstar scored 145 goals across two spells and 346 appearances, and helped us win three Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups, the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Ronaldo was also crowned Ballon d'Or winner in 2008.

"In a statement on November 22, the club put on record its gratitude for Cristiano's immense contribution and wished him and his family well for the future."
