Official: Chelsea extends Trevoh Chalobah's contract until 2028
Against all expectations when the 22-year-old was involved in Chelsea’s last season pre-season just to enlarge squad number, Chalobah has been a revelation for Chelsea as the club offered him a new long-term contract.
Coming through the Chelsea Academy ranks,
Trevoh Chalobahhas made a total of 43 appearances for the club. He was among the key players for Graham Potter, making 13 Premier League appearances this season.
confirmed today that they tied the 23-year-old English defender to a contract until 2028 with an option to extend for a further year.
Chalobah told
Chelsea's website:
"I’m over the moon to sign this contract. It’s been an honor every time I put the shirt on. I want to give my all and do anything for this club.
"As everyone knows I’ve been here from a young age and to continue here is every kid’s dream. Whenever I get the chance, I’ll give my all for the club and look for the future ahead."
Not selected by Gareth Southgate for England's Qatar 2022 World Cup, the centre-back will be back in action after the international break on December 27 when Chelsea faces
