Eriksen: Manchester United must "show consistency" before competition talking

Although Christian Eriksen agrees that Man United are in the right direction, the Danish midfielder argues that the club must find a way to figure out their lack of consistency before placing any Premier League expectation.

Winning the club’s Player of the Month award for September,

Christian Eriksen

joined the Red Devils as a free agent following a brief spell at Brentford where he headed after recovering from a cardiac arrest he suffered in Euro 2022.

The Dane quickly became a key part of Erik ten Hag's

Manchester United

team and helped his side to gain victories against Tottenham, Everton, Arsenal, and Liverpool this year. Despite the achievements, the 30-year-old midfielder insists his new club still has developments to do.

Ahead of United’s Europa League clash against Sheriff, he said in his press conference:

"The pressure has been the same, the focus on the outside is bigger.

“Publicity around the club is bigger but pressure around the football, I don't feel it.

I think you can see the development in the games, how we go into them. You see it with the fans and with us. But we need to show our consistency before we can compare to other teams."

Asked whether he's eying a national team comeback for

Denmark

this World Cup

after his Euro 2020 cardiac arrest, Eriksen said: "

For every footballer it is the same. We are focused on the next game

."
