Allegri leaves out Chiesa in Juve’s 20-man squad for Benfica clash

The Bianconeri boss has named the 20 players in the squad for their crucial battle against Benfica in the Champions League tomorrow, but he did not include Federico Chiesa.

Juventus are five points adrift of Benfica in Group H in the Champions League and they have to win the clash against the Portuguese side tomorrow if they plan to make their way through the next stage of the competition. The Bianconeri lost the first clash with Benfica 2-1 last month and they are eager to bounce back from that defeat.

Massimiliano Allegri

has named the 20-man squad for that game and he did not put Federico Chiesa in that list despite the winger coming back to training sessions. The player sustained a cruciate ligament rupture in January and has been dealing with his injury since then. However, he eventually returned to training this last couple of weeks.

Although the winger trained with the Bianconeri today, the club manager decided not to rush his return for the game against Benfica. Moreover, other players like Leandro Paredes, Paulo Pogba and Gleison Bremer are absent.

The list of the 20-man squad for Benfica clash:

Goalkeepers:

Szczesny, Pinsoglio, Perin.

Defenders:

Danilo, Alex Sandro, Gatti, Bonucci, Rugani.

Midfielders:

Locatelli, McKennie, Cuadrado, Kostic, Miretti, Rabiot, Fagioli.

Forwards:

Vlahovic, Milik, Kean, Suolé, Iling-Junior.
