Simeone confirmed Oblak suffered a concussion during Bilbao clash

The Atletico goalkeeper had to leave the field due to a concussion and is currently under observation.

Diego Simeone has confirmed that Jan Oblak has no recollection of what happened after suffering concussion during Atletico Madrid's 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao.

Oblak had to leave the field in the 69th minute due to a shoulder injury, and Ivo Grbic replaced him in the final minutes of the game. Atlético announced that the reason for replacing the Slovakian goalkeeper was that he suffered a mild concussion and severe pain in his right shoulder. Now Simeone claimed that after the game, Oblak did not remember what happened.

Simeone said:

"Jan didn't remember much of what had happened. I haven't talked to him, but the doctor told me that he didn't remember."

Atlético confirmed that Oblak underwent neurological tests and found nothing worrisome in the tests, but he will remain under observation. He tried to continue playing after the injury last night, but the seriousness of the injury prevented him. He has been in the starting line-up in 8 out of 9 games of Atlético, and he had suffered a thigh injury earlier in the beginning of September.
