Juventus lack heart and passion - Allegri
The Bianconeri boss insists that his side do not have a ‘technical or tactical issue, this team lacks heart and passion.’ Despite them going into a training retreat, the manager has not thought about calling it quits.
Although Juventus were expected to deliver victory in this must-win match, they failed and showcased their worst performance of the current season. They have not been able to show urgency, quality, tactical intelligence and organization as they allowed in crosses even after the first goal.
Andrea Agnelli, the club president, however, told
Sky Sport Italia
after the game that
Max Allegri
will stay as the coach of the club, notwithstanding rumors of him being sacked.
“It is difficult to explain, we can only be silent, because it was not a good performance in terms of character,”
Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.
“We must emerge from this situation and keep quiet. Tomorrow, we return to Turin and we’ll remain at the Continassa training ground until the derby.
“It’s not a technical or tactical issue, this team lacks heart and passion. We play too much as individuals, we need to get back to being a team.”
The Juve boss also feels like his side should be “ashamed” of their display in Haifa.
“He’s right, it was our worst first half. Every now and then it helps to go into a training retreat, we have more time to work. It’s not right to play like this.”
Allegri was quizzed whether he had though about resigning his port at the Bianconeri.
“No, when a challenge becomes difficult, it is even more exciting. We’ve got to emerge from this with courage and hunger.”
