Nagelsmann: Bellingham scene? They told us a kick in the face is a red

Julian Nagelsmann was upset that Jude Bellingham didn't get punished for a high kick on Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies.

Julian Nagelsmann

believes that

Jude Bellingham

should have been sent off during the 2-2 draw with

Borussia Dortmund

in Der Klassiker.

Leon Goretzka

and Leroy Sane scored for Nagelsmann's team to give them a two-goal advantage, but a late comeback by Youssoufa Moukoko and Anthony Modeste's late header for the hosts changed the game's trajectory.

Bellingham's challenge on

Alphonso Davies

, which left the Bayern defender with a possible concussion, could have altered the outcome of the game had he been shown a red card.

Bellingham was not cautioned for the incident in which a high boot struck the head of the Canada international, and Nagelsmann believes the wrong move was taken — as a second yellow card would have resulted in a red card.

"He hits him in the face. The rules are clear. There is a suspicion of a concussion. That's not surprising given the kick in the face,"

he told Sky.

"Four months ago, we had a training course. They told us that a kick in the face is a red."
