Antoine Griezmann to join Atletico Madrid on a permanent deal

Details of the Frenchman's contract with Atletico Madrid have been ironed out, and he is now officially a club member. The deal works out well for all three parties involved; Atletico saves 40 million euros by not having to pay the transfer fee for his loan move starting in the summer of 2021.

Both parties benefit from the trade: Barcelona gets rid of a high salary for a player who isn't in their plans, and the player gets more playing time as a starter (he's started only twice this season).

Therefore, Cholo benefits greatly from not having to restrict the appearances of one of his favorite players and from not having to explain himself regarding the unusual situation of the French player.
