Tottenham coach Ventrone died at the age of 61

A man who impressed as a fitness instructor working with the likes of Antonio Conte, Marcello Lippi and Fabio Cannavaro has died aged 61.

, who was a member of the coaching team under Antonio Conte in Italy and England, has passed away aged 61. Tottenham have released a statement announcing his death, with the statement saying:

''We are devastated to announce that fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone has passed away. He will be greatly missed by everyone at the Club and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this impossibly sad time.''

During his years with Serie A giants Juventus, he was subbed ‘The Marine’ and he built a reputation for himself as one of the most demanding fitness instructors ever. He always wanted those around him to have high standards and he would push the players to their limit when they had physical workouts.

One of his biggest fans was Conte and he made certain to have him in his staff when he wanted to take a managerial role at Tottenham in 2021. Ventrone also spent time at the Bianconeri when Marcello Lippi was in charge. He also worked alongside Fabrizio Ravenelli as his assistant coach when he was in charge of Ajaccio. He also spent time in partnership with Fabio Cannavaro when he came at the helm at Jiangsu Suning, the Chinese side.
