Allegri: "Maccabi? It's not an easy game; we must win"

After losing to Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica in their first two Champions League games, Juventus "must win" Maccabi Haifa in their next game.

Massimiliano Allegri

says that

Juventus

has to beat

Maccabi Haifa

in the Champions League because they have had a rough start to the 2022-23 season.

The Bianconeri finally won a game when they beat Bologna 3-0 in Serie A over the weekend. They hadn't won since August, when they lost their first two European games to

Paris Saint-Germain

and

Benfica

.

But that result hasn't completely covered up the struggles of a team that hasn't looked at ease with itself this season. They've been behind the pace too often at home and abroad and haven't won a Champions League game yet.

The Israeli Premier League champions, the lowest-ranked team in the competition according to the UEFA Club Coefficient, are coming to visit. They must win this game to get out of their trouble.

"We must win, but we don’t need anxiety,"

Allegri said

. "One game does not solve all the problems. Hopefully, we'll win. It's not an easy game. Maccabi played well in Lisbon [a 2-0 loss to Benfica] and played an even match with PSG [a 3-1 loss]. They press high, and it's going to be tough. We have to respect them. It's useless to think about the other teams if we don't win both games against Maccabi. Tomorrow is our most important Champions League game."

Allegri also said that he plans to switch out players because they have a lot of games in October as teams get ready for the Qatar 2022 World Cup next month. "Surely, we will change something," he noted. "We have a packed fixture list. I can rotate a bit during the game."
