Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa failed to beat 10-man Leeds United

10-man Leeds United managed to come away from their Premier League match with Aston Villa with a goalless draw on Sunday.

played much of the second half with 10 men after Luis Sinisterra was shown two yellow cards but they managed to hang on for a 0-0 draw at home against

Aston Villa

to remain unbeaten at home in the League so far this season.

Leeds is in 12th spot with nine points after seven games. Aston Villa is in 14th with eight points from eight games.

Leeds had a good chance in the 18th minute to score but Villa’s goalkeeper managed to clear the ball before Rodrigo can pounce. Leeds had another decent chance a few minutes later but Sinisterra could not connect with Aaronson’s cross.

Swedish defender Ludwig Augustinsson suffered a saw hamstring strain in his debut and was replaced before the halftime.

An entertaining first half finished without a goal. Both teams created some half-chances but neither side managed to keep the composure to put the ball in the back of the net.

Sinisterra who had a yellow card was sent off three minutes into the second half when he was booked for not retreating and then blocking a Villa free kick.

Philippe Coutinho

could score for Villa just a few minutes later but his spectacular volley. Smashed back off the post. Watkins could score on the rebound but his header was not on target.

Leeds hold firm with 10 men to earn a point in an entertaining match. Villa could not breach the Leeds defense and the game finished in a draw.
