Allegri expects Juve to begin a “new season” against Bologna

The Bianconeri have only won only two out of nine of their games across all competitions this season and the results are putting Massimiliano Allegri under pressure.

Massimiliano Allegri

, the Juventus manager, told his side that their “new season” will start in their battle against Bologna after they started the actual season on the wrong foot.

The Bianconeri have not won a game in five matches as they have suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of Monza in Serie A and Benfica in the Champions League. Therefore, the Juve coach is under a lot of pressure for his position as they have only grabbed two victories in nine matches so far this season.

They will lock horns with Bologna on Sunday, which is supposed to be a crucial moment for Juve, with 12 matches left before the World Cup in Qatar arrives and Allegri urged his team to kickstart the season.

"We had started well in the first three games, then [there were] many defeats and bad performances. From tomorrow a new season must begin,"

he said in Saturday's press conference.

"We are trying to bring Juventus back to winning with work and passion and we hope to be able to do it as soon as possible. We still have time to recover both in the league and in the Champions League."

Juve will receive a boost as some of their players will return to action, such as Adrien Rabiot, Manuel Locatelli and Alex Sandro and Allegri has to deal with workloads in a hectic period.

"I have to manage the important players in the best possible way because now we will have many close matches,"

he added.

"Now, however, let's think about Bologna. In these two weeks we have discussed to understand the problems and find solutions.

"We are recovering important players, Sandro, Rabiot and Locatelli return tomorrow, Juan Cuadrado and Arkadiusz Milik return from disqualification. Only Angel Di Maria remains out, due to suspension, Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa."
