Maguire is under heavy pressure at Manchester United for his poor performances and fans have called for the manager to bench him. After Maguire's benching, Manchester United got good results and managed to win 4 games in a row, but despite this, Maguire was included in the Three Lions' lineup for the Nations League matches and played against Italy and Germany.

Last night, while trailing 2-0, England managed to score 3 goals in 12 minutes, but conceded the third goal in the final minutes. Many blamed Maguire for conceding three goals, but Harry Kane praised his team-mate who left the field injured.

He said:

"Any individual mistake, you're going to be gutted. But we are a team, we will get behind each other.

"They [Maguire and goalkeeper Nick Pope] will learn from [their errors] and they'll move on. They have been great for us every time they put the shirt on.

"H [Maguire] had a pretty decent injury there at the end, where he played another five, 10 minutes, on almost one leg.

"Great character from him [to keep playing], I'm really proud of him for that."
