Mourinho urges Roma to be even better this season

The Portuguese tactician talked about how the Giallorossi were better that the expectations in the 2021-22 season and he said he expects more this season.

win their first ever European title in the 2021-22 season as they won the Europa Conference League when they vanquished Feyenoord in the final of the competition. The Giallorossi’s summer transfer window was also productive as they signed players like Paulo Dybala, Georginio Wijnaldum and Nemanja Matic. They are also eager to end this season in the top four as well.

The club coach talked about his first year in charge of the team and then talked about the goals of this season, when speaking at the Quinas de Quro event.

“Last season we did what no one expected, this year we’ll try to do better. We don’t have the same economic potential as our rivals. 

“We had a €7m transfer market, but we have quality, passion, many people who like to work together, which is an important thing, and then at the end of the season we will see.”

He also emphasized how eager and determined he is to get his team to thrive and continue their great work this season as well.

“These 22 years have passed quickly, but I want to continue. I feel good, I feel strong, motivated, I like winning, I hate losing, nothing has changed. 

“The colour of my hair, yes, even the wrinkles, but I want to go on. Not for another 22 years, as there is no time, but for a few more years.”

Roma started the season on the right foot and are sitting 6th on the table after seven matches. They earned 13 points after four victories and one draw. In the Europa League, however, things have been hard as they were defeated at the hands of Ludogorets in their opening match. On the other hand, they won the battle against HJK.
