Benjamin Pavard reveals he considered leaving Bayern Munich

Defender Benjamin Pavard has revealed that he was close to leaving Bayern Munich in the last transfer window.

says after a conversation with Julian Nagelsmann he changed his mind and decided to stay with the German champions.

The France International has played in eight matches this season and already has scored two goals. He is expected to play a key role for Didier Deschamps' France in the World Cup in Qatar.

"I questioned myself, I had calls from different clubs with my agent,"

the 26-year-old said in an interview with Telefoot.

"Afterwards, I spoke with the Bayern coach, we have a good relationship.

"He made me understand that I was in his plans, that I was important for the team.”

Pavard who has been linked with the English clubs will be a free agent at end of the season after his contract expires.

"Maybe one day I will go to one of these clubs, you never know what the future holds,"

added Pavard, who has been reported to be of interest to Premier League sides Manchester United and Chelsea.

"I still [have] a year at Bayern Munich. Afterwards, we have time to decide."

Bayern Munich who wants to win their 11th consecutive Bundesliga title has now won any of their last four games in the league. Nagelsmann's side is in fifth place in the table with 12 points after seven games. Bayern lost with one goal against Augsburg on Saturday in their last game before the international break.
