The Frenchman paid tribute to the national team coach and is willing to “die” for him.

Benjamin Pavard

has been playing regularly for France under the reign of

Didier Deschamps

ever since he had his debut in 2017, when he was playing for

Stuttgart

. The 26-year-old has established himself as one of the greatest full-backs since he made a move to

Bayern Munich

. He has appeared in 45 matches for Deschamps’ France national team and has impressed his coach on multiple occasions.

The right back talked about the relationship he shares with the France coach and how much he appreciates and respects him.

“We are close. If there is something to say he will tell me,"

Pavard said to Telefoot.

"He is an important person, he came to watch the matches when I was playing in Stuttgart when nobody was watching. I owe him a lot. I would die for him on the pitch."

The France full-back is eager to shine for his team who are getting ready to compete in the World Cup in Qatar. However, Barcelona’s Jules Kounde is going to be his competition, while Deschamps has sometimes chosen to have three centre-backs and Pavard had to be sidelined in recent games.

The France international has been named as part of the France squad for the battles against Austria and Denmark in the Nations League.
