France faces injury blow as Bayern's Lucas Hernandez misses World Cup
The French defender joined the Bundesliga giants from Atletico Madrid on an €80 million fee in 2019 before winning the Champions League and the Bundesliga with the club. However, injuries have often set the defender off his potential.

Lucas Hernandezhas also been capped 32 times for the France national team, winning the World Cup 2018 with his side.
However,
Bayern Munich confirmedthe centre-back will be “sidelined for several weeks” as well as missing the upcoming
World Cupafter he suffered an injury during Bayern's Tuesday's 2-0 Champions League victory over
Barcelona.
Hernandez will be the latest addition to Didier Deschamps' list of injured players ahead of the World Cup, with
Paul Pogbaand Karim Benzema also being sidelined due to injuries.

Francenational team’s coach for the first time.
On 6 March 2012, the French footballer earned his first cap for France. He played the whole 90 minutes for the under-16 team in a 1–1 friendly draw with
Italyat Coverciano. Back in 2014, he was part of the under-18 and under-19 squads. The next year he was called up for the 2015 UEFA European Under-19 Championship Team of the Tournament for his performance. Hernandez contributed a lot and assisted the team to win the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
