Erling Haaland says he 'felt SORRY' for Robert Lewandowski

Bayern Munich's pursuit of Erling Haaland left the striker feeling "sorry" for Robert Lewandowski.

Erling Haaland

said he felt bad for

Robert Lewandowski

when Bayern Munich tried to sign him from

Borussia Dortmund

. Haaland moved from Dortmund to Manchester City in July. Before that, he was linked to most of Europe's best teams.

There were rumors that Bayern wanted the striker to replace Poland's captain Lewandowski, who ended up going to Barcelona. In the documentary Haaland: The Big Decision, City's star striker said rumors that he could join Bayern while Lewandowski was still there made him feel uncomfortable.

"If I try to imagine what Lewandowski is thinking, I don't know how many goals and titles he has for the club," he said. "Then I do feel a little sorry for him. At the same time, it's an opportunity for him to move his career forward. It feels rude, but at the same time, it's a chance for him."

Haaland has gotten off to a great start with City, scoring 10 goals in his first six

Premier League

games. On the other hand, Lewandowski scored 5 goals in 4 LaLiga games for Barcelona.
