Carlo Ancelotti hails Rodrygo as a “special” player

Rodrygo's goal delivered a fourth LaLiga win out of four for Real Madrid and earned him praise from head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Carlo Ancelotti

called

Rodrygo

"special" after the forward's goal gave

Real Madrid

a 2-1 LaLiga win over

Real Betis

on their return to Santiago Bernabeu. Vincius Junior scored the first goal in Madrid's first game at their newly renovated stadium in 106 days, but Sergio Canales tied the score before halftime.

Rodrygo stepped up to give the champions their fourth win in a row in La Liga and hand Betis their first loss. After

Brazil

forward scored the game-winning goal in the 65th minute, Madrid manager Ancelotti gave him a lot of praise.

He or she said: "He is a unique striker who can play anywhere on the field. One-on-one, he is quick, smart, and good. The lessons are done. In every way, he is a Real Madrid player."

With 133 wins, Ancelotti tied

Vicente del Bosque

for third place on the list of the most wins by Los Blanco's head coaches. They are behind Miguel Munoz (357) and Zinedine Zidane (172). Madrid is doing well at the top of the table, and Ancelotti is happy with how they've started their title defense.

He said: "We've had a good start to the season. It was not an easy game. We've done well with the ball. We didn't get the last pass, but we made a lot of progress. The match was not easy because Betis plays very good football."

Ancelotti added: "The goal is to play effective football, which allows us to score points and win matches. With the quality we have, we are capable of putting on good games. The team dynamic is good. The squad is very confident in its quality."

Despite having a 100 percent record, Madrid have conceded in all four LaLiga games they have played, and Ancelotti says they must be tighter at the back. He said: "This must be taken into account. The conceded goal was a pretty serious mistake. We were caught unaware behind in a throw-in. We have to improve these situations."
