Lampard can't guarantee Gordon's future at Everton

The young English star has attracted the attention of many clubs.

Frank Lampard announced that there is no guarantee that

Anthony Gordon

will stay at

Everton

.

Tottenham, Newcastle United and

Chelsea

want to attract Gordon in summer transfers. Chelsea announced their interest in Gordon to Everton last week and their bid of £40m is said to have been rejected by the Toffees, with a subsequent bid of £45m also reportedly not accepted by the club. Everton sold Richarlison to Tottenham in the transfer window and while Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also injured, Gordon was the club's only striker in the opening two Premier League games. Everton lost in both games against Chelsea and Aston Villa, and now before the match against Nottingham Forest, Lampard announced that there is no guarantee of Gordon's continued presence.

Asked if Gordon will remain, Lampard replied:

"You can't ask me to assure anything, that'll be naive for me to assure anything. I might not even be here! Who knows. I don't want to get into hypotheticals."

The English manager added:

"Anthony's our player, we're not looking at it like 'where can we go with this deal to improve us?' Anthony's a great player that we've developed, which is a big deal.

"We know his value, because we see the value of players that are moving at the minute. He's a big player for me and the team, I think about what more can we do for the team.

"He's in the squad. Any chat I had with him will remain private and as any player should do, they have to get on with their own game, train well, prepare well.

"He's our player, simple as that."
