Manchester City are on the verge of finishing a deal with the Spanish left-back. The details will be announced later on, with the deal being finalized soon.

At first, Gomez was about to be loaned to Girona, who are part of the City Football Group. However, Pep Guardiola is going to consider keeping him at the club after their move for Marc Cucurella did not work and the player joined Chelsea on a deal worth £62m last week.

Gomez started his career at the youth setup of Barcelona before he departed La Masia for Borussia Dortmund in 2018. He played for Huesca on loan in Spain for two years before penning a contract with Anderlecht. He had a breakthrough under the reign of Vincent Kompany with the Spain Under-21 international and he won the club’s player of the year award.
