sporting director
Hasan Salihamidzic
ruled out the departure of
Leroy Sane
as speculations raised regarding his move to
Manchester United.
According to reports, the Red Devils asked the Bundesliga giants about the availability of the Germany international, who played in England for four years with Manchester City from 2016 to 2020.
He met the back of the net 25 times in 90 matches for the City before making a move to Bayern Munich, where he contributed to two title victories in two seasons.
In their Bundesliga opening battle against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday, they did not include Sane in the starting XI, but the sporting director insisted that the 26-year-old will not depart the club.
When quizzed about a potential transfer for Sane, Salihamidzic told Sky90:
"There's nothing to it.
"Leroy is an important player for us, so there's nothing to tell."
The ex-City player met the back of the net seven times and contributed seven assists last season in the Bundesliga.
