Bournemouth's new signing has the ability to play in different positions.
Tavernier becomes Bournemouth's third signing of the summer after Ryan Fredericks and Joey Rothwell, and they will begin their new campaign at home to Aston Villa on Saturday. Tavernier played 155 games for Wrenmouth and now joins the club for a fee of around £10 million and a five-year contract. Bournemouth confirmed the transfer on their website and Neil Blake said:
"He was one of the standout performers in the Championship last season.
"He has a great pedigree, tremendous energy and is a versatile young player who can play a number of different positions.
"Marcus was attracting a great deal of interest and we are delighted he has decided to join us. Everyone at the club is looking forward to working with him."
Tavernier has the ability to play in the midfield, both in the middle and on the sides. He registered a total of 10 goals and assists in 44 Championship games last season.
He told club's website:
"I'm happy to be here, it's been a long time coming. I'm just delighted to be here now."
