Club Brugge star Charles De Ketelaere set to join Milan

Milan is on the verge of signing Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Milan is close to reaching full agreement with Club Brugge over the transfer of Charles De Ketelaere.

The attacking midfielder will sign his Milan five-year contract on Sunday or Monday. Milan will reportedly pay around €36m for the 21-year-old De Ketelaere.

Calciomercato.com and Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri claims that Milan will pay €32m plus another €3m in add-ons and performance-related bonuses and a 15 percent cut of any future transfer fee.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio also claims that De Ketelaere gave up part of his salary to bring the two clubs closer to an agreement.

Milan technical director Paulo Maldini made the trip to Brugges two weeks ago to get the deal done but he was unable to get Brugges to drop their asking price. Both clubs continued the negotiation and finally, they reached an agreement.

Leeds United was also interested in signing De Ketelaere but he only wanted to join the Serie A champions.

De Ketelaere scored 18 goals and provided 10 assists for Brugge last season and was dubbed ‘the next Kevin De Bruyne’ by the Belgian media.
