Newcastle United chasing on Sociedad’s €48m Alexander Isak

Sociedad is reportedly ready to settle on a €48m fee which won’t be a problem for the Magpies as they have been taken over by an investment fund linked to the Saudi Arabian government.

. Sociedad is reportedly ready to settle on a €48m fee which won’t be a problem for the Magpies as they have been taken over by an investment fund linked to the Saudi Arabian government.

The 22-year-old has contributed 43 goals and eight assists in the 128 appearances he’s made for Sociedad. He also has scored nine goals in his 37 Swedish caps. Newcastle is ready to push for a place in Europe next season as the Swede emerges as a top candidate.

 

This summer Eddie Howe’s side has already signed Nick Pope from Burnley for £10m. Despite signing Dan Burn in January and Fabian Schar in May

has signed Lille's Sven Botman for £35m.

Hugo Ekitike nearly joined Tyneside on Deadline Day in January but stayed at Reims. Newcastle United and other big European clubs remain interested. The 20-year-old would cost around £30m, although he can play on the wing and in the middle. Howe wants young project signers like him. Newcastle spent £95m in January, and adding the four or five categories above may cost equivalent.
