Barcelona close to sign Raphinha as they match Chelsea's £60m offer
The Brazilian star is close to joining Camp Nou.
The Blaugrana have been in close competition with Chelsea for the Brazilian star, and it is reported that they have finally made a similar offer to Chelsea. It is now up to Leeds United to open talks with Barca, the club Raphinha prefers to join, having agreed a personal deal in May.
Despite the lack of financial stability at the club, Barca finally made an offer of £60 million, matching Chelsea's offer for the transfer. Arsenal, who showed interest in recruiting him at the beginning of the transfer, is now completely out of the competition.
Barca entered the summer with a debt of €600m and despite the sale of TV rights which offset a large part of the debt, they still have a huge debt. In the last few days, the Blaugrana has been able to introduce Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen as their new purchases, but the high debt has prevented the official registration of these transfers.
However, they plan to pay Raphinha's transfer fee over several years, and their initial fee is also lower than Chelsea's offer.
