Martinez’s Agent Admits Lukaku’s Return Keeps Lautaro Happy at Inter

Being linked with a summer move to Chelsea, the Argentine’s agent rules out rumors claiming Lautaro Martinez will not leave Inter.

The 24-year-old attacker has 23 goals in 45 competitive games this season, 19 in Serie A. Last year, he was linked with Atletico Madrid and Arsenal, and his current form is only expected to heighten the interest from overseas.

However, it seems

Inter’s

summer signings, especially the return of Lukaku, have convinced the 24-year-old striker to stay put at his club as his agent, Alejandro Camano, clears the situation in an interview with

Gazzetta dello Sport

pleading his client will not leave the Nerazzurri.

"There's a link between them, that's evident. Wearing this shirt isn't for everyone,"

Camano said

. "It's a great thing.

"Lautaro is happy in Milan, he feels like he's at the centre of things, he's loved.

"Why would we want to leave? To where? We're already at the top."

Martinez

only signed a new deal in October 2021, and it doesn't expire until June 2026. The striker was part of Argentina's Copa America-winning squad at the international level and had 19 goals in 37 senior appearances.

Inter will kickstart their Serie A season against Lecce on August 14, the club has already sold Ivan Perisic to Tottenham Hotspur's former coach Antonio Conte, and Alessandro Bastoni might follow the Croatian to north London. However, the Nerazzurri is bolstering their squad to reclaim Serie A 2022-23 trophy that AC Milan won in 2021-22. Their latest signing was Lazio’s Joaquín Correa.

Martinez, on the other hand, has made it clear that he wants to stay at Inter. "My plan is clear," he

told reporters earlier

. "I really want to stay at Inter next season.
