Official: Sven Botman joins Newcastle
Newcastle has confirmed the signing of Dutch defender Sven Botman from Lille.

The English club has said the formalities of the transfer are set to be concluded this week, following which Botman will officially become a Newcastle United player. According to the reports, Newcastle will Lille around £32 million for Botman.
The 22-year-old Botman completed his medical on Tuesday and has signed a five-year contract. He is the third player Newcastle has brought in this summer after Matt Targett and Nick Pope. Newcastle United also wants to sign Reims striker Hugo Ekitike.
Botman was one of
Milan'stop targets this summer and they even agreed to personal terms with him but in the end, Milan failed to reach an agreement with Lille and Newcastle convinced the center-back to join them.
Botman joined Lille from Heerenveen in 2020 and played in 79 matches for them. He hasn't won a senior cap for the Netherlands yet but has been in many senior squads.
