West Ham wants to sign former Manchester United player Jesse Lingard on a free transfer.
According to Sky Sports,
West Hamhas made an offer to
Jesse Lingardwho will be a free player after his contract with
Manchester Unitedexpired at the end of June.
Lingard joined West Ham on a loan deal in the second half of the 2020/21 season. He scored nine goals in 16 Premier League starts and West Ham wanted to sign him permanently but they could not reach an agreement with United.
Newcastle came close to signing Lingered last January but this time they failed to agree on personal terms with him. The 29-year-old Lingard who is United's academy graduate scored 25 goals in 232 matches for Red Devils.
West Ham recently completed their first signing of the summer after signing Rennes defender Nayef Aguerd for £30m. They also want to sign PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola permanently.
Sky Sports claims that Chelsea striker Armando Broja is West Ham's top striker target this summer and they are set to bid in the region of £30m for him. The 20-year-old scored nine goals in 38 appearances in all competitions last season for Southampton.
