Barcelona unwilling to improve Ousmane Dembele contract offer

Barcelona has decided to not increase their offer to Ousmane Dembele.

According to GOAL.COM,

Barcelona

has told

Ousmane Dembele

that he must either accept their current offer or leave the club as a free player this summer.

Dembele will be a free player at the end of June and several clubs are interested in him including

Chelsea

and Paris Saint Germain.

Xavi Hernandes after becoming Barcelona manager said that extending Dembele’s contract is his priority but after the 25-year-old winger refused to accept Barcelona’s offer, they told him he must leave the club in January.

However, the French international played a key role for Barcelona in the second half of the season, and It forced the player and the club to reconsider their stances as negotiations over a renewal restarted again.

Barcelona director Mateu Alemany held multiple meetings with Dembele’s agent, but so far both sides continue to stand firm on their demands.

Dembele joined Barcelona from Dortmund in 2017 for €105 million-plus a reported €40 million add-ons. During this summer ha has played only 150 games due to injuries and has scored 32 goals. He has won two La Liga titles and two Coppa Del Rey titles with Barcelona.
