Robin Olsen signed a permanent contract with Aston Villa

During his loan tenure with Aston Villa, Robin Olsen only played in one match, but he has now secured a permanent deal with the Premier League team.

Aston Villa

has signed goalkeeper Robin Olsen on a permanent basis from

AS Roma

for an unspecified price.

Olsen played the second half of the 2021-22

Premier League

season as a loanee at Villa Park, making just one appearance, the 3-2 defeat on the last day at Manchester City.

The Sweden international moved to Roma from FC Copenhagen in 2018 as Alisson's successor, who moved to Liverpool. However, he struggled to make an impression at the Giallorossi, loaning out to Cagliari, Everton, and Sheffield United. 

He joins Steven Gerrard's Villa, who have recently completed agreements to recruit

Boubacar Kamara

from Marseille and

Diego Carlos

from Sevilla, as well as turning

Philippe Coutinho

's loan spell from Barcelona permanent.
