Van Dijk fully fit for Champions League final

Wed 25 May 2022 | 17:51

Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk is ready to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

Van Dijk

suffered an injury in the FA Cup final against Chelsea and missed

Liverpool's

final two Premier League matches but the defender is fully fit for the

Champions League

final in Paris.

Van Dijk told Liverpoolfc.com:

"Yeah, I'm fine, absolutely fine. No issues and very excited for Saturday, of course."

Van Dijk believes the two-week break had helped him to be ready for the final.

"Yeah, I think physically definitely. My body is definitely enjoying a little bit of rest after playing so many games, so many tense moments, and I think getting a little knock after the FA Cup final was maybe a sign that my body needed to have a rest.

"I feel absolutely fine now and looking forward to, hopefully, a special evening."

Despite Van Dijk being fit, Klopp has other worries as Fabinho and Thiago remain in doubt for the final.

Liverpool's hopes of a quadruple come to an end after Manchester City won the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp's side has won the Carabao Cup and Fa cup and wants to win the Champions League to complete the treble of cups this season.
