Barcelona is leading the race to sign Leeds United star Raphinha

Barcelona wants to sign Leeds star Raphinha this summer.

According to 90min,

Raphinha

wants to join

Barcelona

but a few English teams like Chelsea, West Ham, and Newcastle are also interested in signing him.

90min claims Raphinha will leave

Leeds

regardless of whether they avoid relegation or not. If Leeds relegates to the Championship a release clause worth just £25m in his contract will come into effect.

Famous football journalist Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that Barcelona is in the lead for Raphinha’s signature, but there are other teams interested in him.

Romano wrote in his

CaughtOffside

column:

“There are still no advanced negotiations for Raphinha between Leeds and Barcelona because the Spanish club wants to respect Leeds in their relegation fight; but in reality, since March, Raphinha and his agent Deco are in very advanced talks with Barça on personal terms for a contract until June 2027,” Romano said.

“Raphinha wants Barcelona, it’s his priority, but there is no definitive agreement between clubs so far. We’ll see if the €25m release clause can be activated or not, with Leeds still not safe in the Premier League.

The Spanish press also in recent days claimed that the Brazilian’s agent is in advanced negotiations with Barcelona. Barcelona has been heavily linked with Raphinha in recent months and it looks as if it is just a matter of time until this transfer becomes official.

The 25 year old Raphinha joined Leeds in 2020 and since then has scored 16 goals in 25 games.

Leeds final game of the season is on Sunday against Brentford.
