Klopp after Fa Cup final win: Couldn't be more proud of my boys

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised Chelsea's performance in the FA Cup final.

Liverpool

won the

FA Cup

with a 6-5 penalty shootout victory over

Chelsea

at Wembley Stadium on Saturday to keep their hopes of winning the quadruple alive.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Mason Mount missed their penalties for Chelsea. Sadio Mane for Liverpool also missed his penalty and Kostas Tsimikas scored the crucial penalty.

Klopp after the game told BBC Sport:

”[Liverpool] are mentality monsters, but we saw mentality monsters in blue as well. [The difference] was one penalty, that's it.

"Chelsea was great, outstanding, but in the end, there has to be one winner and today it was us. We will enjoy it."

Klopp added:

"[Our] performance, it was again the same, an incredibly intense game against Chelsea. They would have deserved [the win] exactly the same way as in the Carabao Cup, that's how small the margins are, the difference.

"I couldn't be more proud of my boys for what they did, how hard they fought and how hard it was."

Jurgen Klopp added the FA Cup to the five other major trophies he won as Liverpool manager to complete the full set.

Chelsea now has lost three FA Cup finals in a row.
