After parting ways with Adi Hutter, Borussia Monchengladbach is seeking for a new coach.
is stepping down as head coach ofBorussia Monchengladbach
after just one season. Hutter replaced
at Gladbach at the start of the 2021-22 season after an excellent three-year stint withEintracht Frankfurt
The Austrian coach, on the other hand, failed to make an effect at his new club, which seemed like it would be dragged into a
relegation battle at one point.
Gladbach were only four points above the relegation play-off spot and five points above the bottom two in early March after a run of only two wins in 13 games, including two 6-0 losses but also a win atBayern Munich
Hutter and his team, on the other hand, turned the season around, losing only one of the final nine games and scoring twice as many points (18) as they had during that troubling 13-game period (nine).
Gladbach finished on a high note, coming back from a 1-0 deficit on Saturday's last day to defeat Hoffenheim 5-1, their best comeback victory since 1997. But it wasn't enough to persuade the club or Hutter to stay, and his departure was reportedly decided upon and finalized just after full-time.
"Borussia Dortmund and head coach Adi Hutter have amicably agreed to part ways following the 2021-22 season," a short statement on Gladbach's Twitter page said.
"This is the product of the last season's conversations and assessments that have taken place over the last several weeks and days." Gladbach finished 10th with 45 points, their lowest point total since 2010-11 (36) when they needed a relegation play-off to avoid relegation.
