Salah suffers injury in FA Cup final

Mohamed Salah limped off injured during Liverpool's FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday.

Mohamed Salah

was forced off the pitch in the first half of the

FA Cup

final against Chelsea.

It appears the forward might have suffered a groin injury. Salah was replaced by Diogo Jota. At one point, Salah wanted to play on but

Liverpool's

doctor appeared to suggest he must leave the pitch.

A Bein Sports reporter after talking to Liverpool tweeted this about Salah's situation: “

Confirmation from Liverpool that it is a sore groin. He was walking fairly unimpeded so this looks like a cautious option. Don’t write off his chances of being in the Champions League final yet.

“That it is an injury you just can’t take a risk on, and the fact the medical team were with him for a little bit of a while, checking how he was, suggests this was a cautious decision. A risk you simply can’t take.”

Salah's injury is bad news for Jurgen Klopp in the final days of the season. They will face Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Paris on May 28. Salah in the Champions League final in Kyiv in 2018 against Real Madrid also got injured and left the pitch.

Liverpool will play Southampton on Tuesday in the Premier League and at the final home game of the season, they will play Wolves next Sunday.

Salah has scored 30 goals for Liverpool this season and recently picked up the Football Writers Association Footballer of the Year award.
