Van Der Sar lauds Onana as he confirms Gravenberch's leaving desire

Ajax executive Edwin van der Sar congratulates André Onana on his move to Inter and acknowledges Ryan Gravenberch's desire to depart in the summer.

Onana has already completed his medical tests with the Nerazzurri, who will shortly make his free transfer to the Stadio Meazza official.

“We say goodbye to a goalkeeper and right back”, Van der Sar told De Telegraaf, referring to Onana and Noussair Mazraoui.

“And we have a midfielder with a wish to leave,” he added, pointing to Gravenberch, who has been linked with Juventus and Manchester United.

“When you play so well in the

Champions League

, there will naturally be interest in many players. That makes sense, but we also want to maintain our ambitions. We will continue to watch transfers carefully.”

Gravenberch was a Mino Raiola customer, and new Man United manager Erik ten Hag is intent on bringing the Netherlands international back to Old Trafford in 2022-23. In the summer, Juventus will be seeking a new central playmaker, and various players have been associated with the club, including Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Paul Pogba, and Jorginho.

Pogba is a free agent after refusing to renew his contract at

Premier League

side, but the Old Lady will face stiff competition from PSG for his signature. If the Red Devils are to recruit Gravenberch this summer, they appear to have more economic means than the

Serie A

club.

The 19-year-contract old's with Ajax expires in 2023, so the club may be obliged to transfer him if no deal can be reached to prolong his stay.
