Kevin de Bruyne's four-goal haul helped Manchester City restor their three-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

City

thrashed Wolves 5-1 to move within four points of the Premier League title.

De Bruyne

completed his hat-trick with just 24 minutes on the clock, added another on the hour and Raheem Sterling scored a late fifth.

De Bruyne after the game told Sky Sports:

“It was a nice performance. When you score four goals it’s always something special, it should have been five to be honest.

“But I think we played well except for a couple of counters in the first half, and we could have scored more. To do that against a Wolves team that is defensively sound is impressive.

"It's crazy, the standards we both set you can only respect it. They've played everything until the end of the season. We know how hard it is, both teams have ultimate respect, and we play hard. That's all we can do, we have to prepare. West Ham won't be easy, we try to go there and win the game."

De Bruyne also explained his celebration after his third goal which was similar to

Erling Haaland

's goal celebrations.

"I did a couple of interviews and they said with Haaland. I didn’t even know, I just did it because I scored three!

"The third one, that strike is the cleanest, I hit it really hard in the corner. That was the purest."
