The Los Blancos boss backed Gareth Bale, who missed his side’s celebration as they won the La Liga title.

celebrated their La Liga title victory following their 4-0 win over Espanyol as he was dealing with a back injury. The 32-year-old, who has become a villain in the Spanish press’ eyes, took it
to congratulate his side and teammates. He also insisted that he wish he could have joined the celebrations.
Last Saturday, Bale posted:
"So disappointed that I’m not able to be part of the celebrations this evening due to a bad back spasm but really proud of the team for winning the title! Enjoy tonight boys!"
The Spanish media slammed the Welsh winger, with
naming his tweet as an
"ugly gesture on a day of joy for the squad and fans".
, however, was not pleased with how brutal the criticisms were.
"All the players have an affection for Bale and vice-versa,"
the Italian declared.
"When you have a back issue, it becomes difficult to move, it happened to me.
"If Bale is okay, he trains, but if he doesn't it's because he can't move, not because he's distant."
Bale has previously been targeted by the Spanish press as well and the player is determined to leave the club in the summer when his contract expires. Marca called Bale a “parasite” before as he kept asking for a high wage notwithstanding rarely playing for Real Madrid this season.
The ex-Tottenham star released a statement in response to those suggestions once saying: “We all know who the real parasite is”.
Bale has featured in fiveLa Liga
matches this season, with two of them coming in the Champions League. It has yet to be determined what his future will be.
