Ange Postecoglou named Scottish Football Writers’ manager of the year

The Scottish Football Writers' Association has named Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou William Hill Manager of the Year.

Celtic

are on the verge of winning the Scottish Premiership, which they might win on Sunday if the

Rangers

fail to beat

Dundee United

at home, with the game starting at 3 pm.

Celtic manager

Steven Gerrard

was nominated alongside fellow

Scottish Premiership

managers

Malky Mackay

and Robbie Neilson, as well as Arbroath manager Dick Campbell and Scotland manager Steve Clarke. "The Greek-Australian has done a fantastic job rebuilding Celtic to take them to the edge of the title, having already won the League Cup back in December," the SFWA said in a statement.

"Postecoglou has reached the pinnacle of his career with a historic 30-game unbeaten streak." Postecoglou, who is in his debut season at Parkhead, praised his new recruits for helping Celtic win the championship.

Postecoglou explained, "I was always going to be judged on the players I brought in because that's where you put your words into practice." "We brought in Kyogo and Liel Abada, and they immediately got to work. "Am I shocked by our strike rate's success?" No. That is not a dismissive statement. It isn't a precise science, and it isn't all about the money."
