Salah claims 'everyone at Liverpool' wanted Real Madrid in UCL final

In five games versus Real Madrid, Liverpool's opponents in the Champions League final, Mohamed Salah has a draw and four losses.

After

Champions League final

opponents,

Mohamed Salah

is looking forward to meeting them.

Madrid's appetite for the epic was on display on Wednesday, scoring two goals in injury time and a third in extra time to eliminate

Manchester City

, following Liverpool's thrilling second-leg triumph over Villarreal that sent the Reds to the May 28 trophy showdown in Paris.

Salah, 29, responded to Madrid's victory on Twitter, stating that he and Liverpool have a "score to settle." He's now said that everyone at Liverpool preferred to face Los Blancos at the Stade de France over their tough Premier League rivals.

Salah told

Sky Sports

, "If you ask everyone [at Liverpool], everyone wants that game." "I'm not sure why we're not allowed to discuss it, but I'm fine with it because I really wanted that game. Before that game [against Manchester City], I wanted to play Real Madrid.

"Of course, I'm not giving them all the credit. They're an incredible team with a fantastic coach and players. I said Madrid when they asked who I wanted. It's a simple response." In five Champions League appearances versus Los Blancos, Salah has a personal record of one draw and four defeats, scoring once — in the first leg of the 2020-21 quarter-final stage.

Salah's early injury and substitution in the 2017-18 final between Liverpool and Real Madrid was notable, as he was taken down in a confrontation with Sergio Ramos. Despite personal losses for Liverpool and Roma in their matches versus Madrid, the Kyiv final four years ago is the one that sticks in my mind, both publicly and privately.

Salah explained, "You just feel so dejected, so down." "'Come on, this isn't a game!' However, once you have the time, you will forget about it. "I had work affairs and then I had a holiday after. 'What do you want?' I simply inquired about that vacation. To keep crying and being miserable about it and having it bring you down? Or you just fight back.' And I fought back in the best way and that's why we're here now."
