Chiellini has been wearing the Bianconeri's shirt for 17 seasons, but intends to leave the team at the end of the season to retire from football at the highest level. He had previously announced that he would retire from the Italian national team in the June 1 match against
Argentina.
Chiellini has won nine Serie A titles, five Coppa Italia titles and one Euro title, and has twice reached the Champions League final, and is known as one of the best defenders of his generation. However, he intends to leave European football and, with an agreement with Juventus, terminate his contract, which is one year away, and move to MLS.
It is also possible that Chiellini will leave for his former team Continassa after leaving Juventus and will continue to play in Italy. He has stated that his story with Juventus will never end and that he may continue to work behind the scenes.
