Manchester United 3-0 Brentford: Comfortable win in final home match

Manchester United beat Brentford by three goals on Monday night in their last game of the season at Old Trafford.

Manchester United

now sits at sixth place in the Premier League table with 58 points from 36 matches. Rangnick's side is six points ahead of West Ham, who have a game in hand. This was Rangnick's final home match as United's interim manager.

Bruno Fernandes

opens the scoring in the 9th minute. Elanga’s cutback to the center of the six yard box picks out Fernandes, who was unmarked. Fernandes calmly steers the ball into the back of the net.

Ronaldo

scored the second goal in the 44th minute but it was ruled out because of offside. Brentford came close to scoring early in the second half but De Gea puts away Toney's effort after a corner.

Ronaldo scores in the 61st minute from the penalty spot, which he earned through his own endeavor and guile.

Raphael Varane scores his first goal of the season in the 72nd minute from a corner. Varane beats several Brentford players to the ball inside the six yard box and steers the ball into the back of the net.

Brentford sits at the 14th place in the table with 40 points from 35 games.
