Holding and Ramsdale on Arsenal’s victory over West Ham

Arsenal grabbed three important points in their clash against West Ham United on Sunday.

Following

Tottenham

’s victory over Leicester today,

Arsenal

were in need of a victory to take their fourth place back. That is what they did with their 2-1 victory against

West Ham

.

Rob Holding

scored the opener for the Gunners but Jarrod Bowen leveled the game for his side. Arsenal pushed back for retaking their advantage through Gabriel and that led to their victory.

Holding pulled off an impressive display after being offered a chance to start the game when Ben White was injured. The English defender then scored his first ever Premier League goal in the first half.

He then admitted how Arsenal will have to be under pressure like against West Ham for the rest of the season as they needed a victory to retake their place from Tottenham, who won against Leicester City.

“It’s going to be like that,”

Holding said.

Holding also did not think this was Arsenal’s best display as a clean sheet might have made it a perfect day for the defence.

“If it was a clean sheet it would have been a perfect day,”

 he said

Aaron Ramsdale

also revealed that he was not aware that Tottenham won when he was quizzed about the importance of their victory against West Ham.

“I didn’t know they [Spurs] won,”

he said.

When asked about Rob Holding’s first goal in the Premier League, Ramsdale joked and said: “

Only took six years and a new hairline.”
